Frequently asked questions
What shape does it crop to?
A perfect circle, centered on your image. The shortest side of the image defines the circle's diameter.
Why does it export as PNG?
The circle creates transparent corners. Only PNG supports transparency. JPG would show white corners instead.
Will my image be cropped or squished?
The tool crops from the center. It will trim the longer sides to make a square, then circle-crop it. Nothing is stretched.
Can I control where the circle is centered?
Currently the circle is always centered. For custom crop positioning, use the Portplate editor.
Can I use this for a LinkedIn profile photo?
Yes. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and most platforms display profile photos as circles. This tool gives you full control over how it looks.
