Frequently asked questions
Does the border increase the canvas size?
Yes. The tool adds the border around the outside of your image, so the output is larger than the original by the border width on each side.
Can I add different colors on each side?
Not with this tool. The border is uniform on all four sides. For asymmetric padding, use the Portplate editor.
What colors can I choose?
Any color. The color picker gives you full RGB control. Common choices are white (#ffffff), black (#000000), or your brand color.
Is there a maximum border size?
The slider goes up to 200px. For thicker borders, use the Portplate editor where you can add custom-sized padding.
What's the output format?
The bordered image is downloaded as PNG for maximum compatibility.
